BOMAC, Inc., a drive and control systems integrator in Syracuse, NY, has just completed a full systems test in their panel shop of a CI Press Drive and machine control upgrade.

The existing process line was running on old analog DC drives originally provided by a now-defunct drive OEM. At the same time, the end user decided it was in their best interest to also replace the old hard-wired relay logic with a new PLC. The customer was experiencing exceptionally long production outages waiting for obsolete parts to get the drive back in proper working order.

The new system includes Eurotherm 590+ DC drives, a new Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLC, and Allen-Bradley PanelView 1000 HMI in a new main machine operators’ control console.
